In science terms, a “Law” is something that is proven beyond a reasonable doubt. It is definitely true. Sir Isaac Newton’s Law of Gravitation has been proven and no one doubts it. A “Theory” has been studied and seems to be correct, but may be wrong. No one has proven it beyond a reasonable doubt, but no one has disproved it either. Einstein's Theory of Relativity explains a lot of things and allowed for huge advances in science, but it may be wrong. As a matter of fact, some scientists are challenging Einstein's theory. Astrology has been studied for hundreds of years, but it is still just a theory, not a law. It is quite possible that astrology is wrong.
Do we throw it away then? No, we didn’t throw away Einstein’s work. It still helps explain a lot of things. Whatever religion you are is a theory, not a law. If it was a law, I would think that everyone would follow the same religion. So why believe in a religion? Someone once told me that they believed in God because if he exists, he was going to Heaven after death and not hell. If God does not exist, it really didn’t hurt him to follow religion. I think that is the wrong reason to follow a religion, but he did have a point. I apply his logic to astrology. If it is true, it could really make life much better. If it is not true, it really doesn’t hurt me, unless I take astrology to the extreme.
