Congratulations Taylor and Chad!

This ceremony was my most terrifying because Taylor IS MY DAUGHTER!
Just as I made my last payment for my daughter’s college, she decides to get married. She asked me to preside and I initially declined. I thought it would be unfair to her husband Chad. After thinking about it, I said OK. I have seen too many bad ceremonies and I didn’t want my daughter’s wedding to be one of them. Chad didn’t seem to have an issue either.
I was concerned about my daughter being a Bridezilla. She has a tendency to stress out about things. I was amazed to see how incredibly calm she was throughout the whole process. In planning the wedding, I only asked that she use my favorite photographer Marco. He does amazing work and I highly recommend Marco-Antonio Photography/ Taylor ended up selecting Devil’s Ridge Golf Club/ in Oxford, Michigan for the venue. She couldn’t have picked a more meaningful place to me. It is a beautiful course that I love very much. Their staff did an amazing job with the wedding!
This was my largest wedding so far with about 260 people. I walked my daughter up the aisle then hopped over to my Good Reverend Jim position. I said the first line of the ceremony and then ran into a problem. I looked at my daughter. She looked BEAUTIFUL! Then I got choked up and couldn’t speak! I thought “Crap! I’m not going to be able to do this”.
I quickly gathered myself, made sure I bend my knees so I wouldn’t pass out, looked away from my daughter and continued on with the service. This all happed quickly. Most people noticed but it didn’t become awkward. I was impressed how controlled my daughter was the whole time. She was a rock!
The rest of the evening was wonderful. Taylor, you organized a fantastic wedding! I love you and thanks for having me preside. I’m a proud father!
Welcome to the family Chad! I know you will continue to make my daughter happy!
