Judging Others
People misunderstand what “judgment” means. We all make judgments—decisions—every day, both individually and collectively. Immigration, one of the big topics with Charlie Kirk, is a good example. He and I both claim to follow Jesus, yet we reach very different conclusions. Each of us encourages others to follow our interpretation, and society reflects those choices through votes and policies. Saying we’re saved by grace sounds good, but it doesn’t answer how we should judge right and wrong in daily life. Jesus’s warning about judgment wasn’t about decision-making itself but about condemning others as good or bad or deserving of punishment. I’m not judging Charlie that way. I believe his views on immigrants contradict Jesus’s teachings. Still, open, thoughtful discussion is valuable. Why can’t we have that and judge the topic, not the person?
